The National Weather Service has issued a severe winter storm warning for north Louisiana. Accordingly, classes that begin after noon tomorrow (Friday) will be canceled to accommodate students who wish to travel home ahead of the weather. Campus will be closed Monday and Tuesday, with plans to reopen and resume classes as normal on Wednesday, January 28. This includes operations at Barksdale and the Academic Success Center in Bossier City.
The National Weather Service indicates we will experience dangerously cold conditions beginning Friday evening through early next week. There is potential for wintry precipitation across the area Friday night through Sunday with temperatures remaining below freezing through Monday. Expect moderate to major travel impact from snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
Please stay off the roads unless you must travel, and use caution on sidewalks and steps outdoors.
Though the campus is closed, some services will be open for students who remain on campus.
Tech Table will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the planned closure.
The Lambright Center will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday through Monday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. TechCare plans to maintain normal business hours throughout.
Please continue to monitor campus communications through email, social media, and the ERT website at https://ert.latech.edu/.
Essential staff who need to be on campus for work will be notified by their supervisors. The Payroll Office will provide guidance for essential employees required to work and instructions for recording leave for the weather closure.
