Please continue to exercise caution when driving in areas with high water.

Severe Weather Alert

Through today, the Ruston area has the potential for severe weather.

Please monitor local weather and be prepared to shelter in place when necessary.

For students who reside on campus, the following advisories have been issued in the event of an emergency:

  • In a traditional residence hall, make your way to first floor hallway and shelter in place.
  • In a residential suite or any apartments, take shelter in your bathroom with a mattress as cover.
  • You should always take shelter in the lowest floor possible away from windows and the possibility of flying debris.
  • Resident assistants and hall directors will be updated as the weather progresses and may lead the charge to seek these accommodations.  Please give them your cooperation if necessary.
  • The staff member on call for the weekend is Roshaun Taylor, Hall Director of Mitchell Hall.  You can contact him at 318.257.4273 should any concerns arise.

Once again, please monitor local weather through area media for up-to-date information on changing conditions.
